Every third Thursday of the month, Spilt Milk brings top-notch DJ talent to Milk Bar and its newly-upgraded sound system. We focus on house music, but don't be surprised if you hear some techno, disco, funk, boogie, bass, or garage blasting out of the speakers. This month's guest are party-starting DJ duo Bells & Whistles and the boys behind SF synth-glam trio Pixel Memory. Our drink specials for the night will be vodka Red Bulls for $5, and pints of Pyramid Hefeweizen for $3. Also, anybody that comes to Spilt Milk from Night Life at the Academy of Sciences can redeem their ticket for a free pint of the hef.
Bells & Whistles
Bells & Whistles is the musical collaboration between Zack Yakovlev and Yanick Weitlisbach. Shortly after joining forces and taking on the moniker “Bells & Whistles,” the two started DRESSCODE, a monthly party at the Francis Drake Hotel that featured guests such as Claude Vonstroke, Catz N’ Dogz, Alland Byallo, Justin Martin, Tim Green, Maetrik, J. Phlip, and Soul Clap. Lately, the pair have been taking over 222 Hyde every third Tuesday for their killer house party, The Habitat. These dudes know how to start a party and hold it down, so don't miss their closing set
Pixel Memory (DJ set)
Austin Fraser and Joe Gray are the hardware and battery behind SF synth-glam trio Pixel Memory. When not channeling sounds from the interzone with the group, the two moonlight as a standout DJ pair, focusing on deep house music from the fathoms of dimension X. Their selections are dark and provocative, and will compel you to move your body under the light of the disco ball.
